Superbadge Cohort Learning Pilot: Apex Callouts
Workshop Overview
This pilot cohort experience is designed as a collaborative discovery session to explore and refine our approach to community-led learning. Participants will navigate a hands-on superbadge experience while helping us identify the most effective facilitation methods, support materials, and engagement strategies.

Arrivals and Find a Pod
- Settle in, find a spot to set up your laptop, and let’s warm up the room before we start building some Apex integration skills.
Introduction and Environment setup
- Overview of superbadges and how they differ from other Trailhead badges
- Introduction to support resources and troubleshooting guidance
Group Learning: Apex Callouts Superbadge
- Challenge 1 – Rewards Management: Instruction (5 mins) + Completion (45 mins) – erialize the user details in the WellnessJourneyRewardsBatch class and call the submitUsersForRewardCallout(String jsonBody) method to make a callout to the external system.
- Challenge 2 – Testing the Rewards Callout Service: Instruction (5 mins) + Completion (45 mins) – Write an Apex test class for the WellnessJourneyRewardsBatch and RewardsCalloutService Apex classes with at least 90% code coverage.
- Mid-Session Break: Reflection and reset opportunity (10 mins)
- Challenge 3 – Accessibility Project Billing: Instruction (5 mins) + Completion (45 mins) – Consume a WSDL and generate Apex proxy classes to make an authenticated callout to submit the bill amount and the Accessibility Project ID.
- Challenge 4 – Testing Billing Callout Service: Instruction (5 mins) + Completion (45 mins) – Write an Apex test class for the AccessibilityProjectBilling Apex class with at least 90% code coverage.
Recap, Exit Survey and Pilot Feedback
- Group recap to surface lessons learned and common pitfalls
- Exit surveys for both facilitators and participants, plus swag distribution
- Discussion of coaching insights discovered during the pilot
